In what may he his last start for the Brewers in a while, Mike Fiers got manhandled by the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday at Citizens Bank Park as the Phils avoided a sweep with a 7-5 victory. The struggling right hander gave up five runs in the first inning, Dominic Brown's three run home run was the big blow. He found more trouble in the second, giving up a pair of runs. Fiers (1-4) was charged with seven hits and seven runs in just one and two thirds innings. The Milwaukee offense meanwhile, struggled against veteran lefty Cliff Lee until he came down with cramps in the 7th and 8th innings. Milwaukee rallied for four runs in the 8th. Jonathan Lucroy just missed a grand slam home when his liner near the foul pole was correctly ruled a three run triple. Jeff Bianchi delivered an RBI single in the 9th and the Brewers loaded the bases but couldn't complete the comeback. Still, after a dreadful month of May, the Brewers (21-34) left Philly taking two out of three and they return home for an interleague series with Oakland. Marco Estrada will pitch for Milwaukee at Miller Park Monday night. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:35 PM on WTAQ.
