Brewers host Marlins in return from All-Star break

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The Milwaukee Brewers return from the All-Star break tonight with the hope of avoiding their second 100 loss season in team history.

At its current pace, the Crew stands to lose 97 games come October. They’re currently 38-56, with the fourth-worst record in Major League Baseball.

Tonight, the Brewers will host the Miami Marlins – who have the Majors’ second-worst record at 35-58.

Manager Ron Roenicke says the Brewers should be playing a lot better – even with all the injuries to key players like Ryan Braun, Aramis Ramirez, and Corey Hart.

Braun is expected to return tonight, after missing last weekend’s Arizona series while on a bereavement leave.

Milwaukee has also been plagued by inconsistent hitting, fielding, and starting pitching. Roenicke says his main goal for the second half is to find some consistency – at least to the point where he can have a set starting lineup and pitching rotation.

Right-hander Kyle Lohse will start for Milwaukee tonight against Marlins’ right-hander Jacob Turner. Pregame on 1360/97.5 WTAQ is at 6:35 p.m., first pitch at 7:10 p.m.
