Kim Kaufman of South Dakota turned in the low round of the day Sunday, a 4 under 68 to finish the 54 hole event tied with second round leader Mitsuki Katahira. Kaufman parred the first playoff hole and the Symetra Tour rookie captured the third Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass, earning $17,250 dollars for the win. The Symetra tour is the top feeder tour of the LPGA as the season ending top 10 money winners earn LPGA cards. This was the final year of a three year contract for Sweetgrass, in Harris, Michigan to host a Symetra Tour stop but officials have been very happy with the local organizers and attendance and they hope to return in 2014.
