The De Pere Redbirds have taken sole posession of first place in the Fox River Classic Conference boys basketball race after defeating Green Bay East 71-38 Tuesday night. Brevin Pritzl led the 9th ranked Redbirds with 20 points. De Pere is now 11-1 in the FRCC, a game ahead of Pulaski. The Red Raiders, ranked second in Division 2, were upset by Ashwaubenon 51-50 in double overtime. The Jaguars were led by Kyle Monroe with 17. Ashwaubenon has handed Pulaski both conference losses, by a combined two points. In other FRCC action, Bay Port defeated Green Bay West 69-57, Green Bay Southwest beat Notre Dame 66-53, Sheboygan South knocked off Green Bay Preble 50-39 and Sheboygan North defeated Manitowoc 60-58 behind 30 points from Ethan Guske who became the Golden Raiders' career scoring leader.
In Girls play, top ranked De Pere remained unbeaten with a 71-24 victory over East, The reigning state champs have now won 36 consecutive games.
