GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A downtown Green Bay bar is close to having their liquor license revoked permanently.
The city says Liquid 8 has been a longtime nuisance with 16 major incidents over the past three years. Incidents include liquor law violations, operating after hours, underage drinking, and two stabbings.
The most recent stabbing happened three weeks ago.
Assistant city attorney Jim Mueller says city has tried to work with the bar owner and given them opportunities to clean up their act.
The bar at Cherry St. and Washington is in Alderman David Boyce’s district. Boyce says it’s time to drop the hammer.
The city is requesting to permanently revoke Liquid 8’s liquor license.
A special Protection and Welfare Committee meeting has been called for next Wednesday, where they will make a recommendation.
