CLINTON, WI (WTAQ) - An Amish teenager who drowned in a farm pond while chopping ice blocks for his family has been identified as 17-year-old Lester Mullet of the Vernon County town of Clinton.
Sheriff’s officials said other boys had just delivered ice blocks to the family’s farmhouse when they returned and saw only Lester’s gloves on top of the water.
Vernon County rescue divers recovered the boy’s body about two-and-a-half hours after he fell in. The pond was 8 to 12 feet deep.
