(WNFL) - The fourth-ranked Wisconsin men's basketball team will try to stay undefeated tonight when it hosts U-W Milwaukee. Bo Ryan's Badgers are 10-and-0, while his former assistant Rob Jeter leads a Panther team that's 9-and-2 with its best start in 11 years. Wisconsin freshman guard Bronson Koenig expects to get more playing time behind Traevon Jackson. That's after George Marshall left the team in the wake of a concussion he suffered at practice last month. Koenig, who starred at La Crosse Aquinas High School, is shooting 52-percent from the floor, and 42-percent from three-point-range at a 5-for-12 clip. He also has 10 assists against five turnovers. Badgers' associate head coach Greg Gard says Koenig's early numbers may be a little ahead of what the coaching staff had expected at this early point in his career. Meanwhile, U-W-M is getting a big spark from junior college transfer Matt Tiby. The sophomore forward leads the Panthers with close to 15 points and seven rebounds per game. Milwaukee set a new school record with seven victories in November. Still, Wisconsin is 29-and-1 all-time against U-W-M. Milwaukee's only win came in December of 1992, when the Badgers played at the U-W Field House.
