WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ) - The driver of a transit bus in Waukesha is facing discipline for calling a passenger “short, fat, and white.”
According to the Waukesha Freeman, the female passenger was riding on a downtown route last week when she had asked that the air conditioning be turned down. The driver said no twice – and as the passenger left the bus she was reportedly told, “You’re short, fat, and white … Don’t talk to me like that.”
Waukesha Metro manager Brian Engelking said the driver was not a city worker, but was an employee of a private company that manages the system.
Engelking said he could not disclose what type of punishment the driver faces.
