MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee podiatrist has received a license suspension, amid accusations of lying to and overcharging patients.
The Podiatry Credentialing Board unanimously voted against John Lanham and has suspended his license for at least six months.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Lanham received over 90 complaints since 2001. 66 of those cases were dismissed before reaching the Podiatry Board for review.
While those complaints are not accessible, some clients told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Lanham would mislead them and say their visits were covered under their insurance plan, then sends them a big bill.
Lanham is also accused of “boosting” bills, meaning additional fees were allegedly added to a client’s bill.
