MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - There’s a report Friday that members of Alex Rodriguez’s inner circle leaked documents which implicated Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun and others for buying performance-enhancing drugs.
The CBS show “60 Minutes” said associates of the Yankees’ star leaked information about Braun and a dozen other players in February – just days after the Miami New Times implicated Rodriguez in the BioGenesis PED scandal.
In the New Times’ documents, the names of Braun and one other player were blacked out.
“60 Minutes” says the Rodriguez group obtained unredacted copies and leaked them to Yahoo Sports. Rodriguez’s lawyer denies it.
Braun was suspended last month for the rest of the season – and he’s been heavily criticized for lying, after he denied for almost two years that he took PED’s.
Rodriguez was suspended for 211 games. He continues to play while he appeals the punishment. “A-Rod” was the only player in the BioGenesis case to appeal.
Braun accepted his suspension and gave a general apology.
