Arrested officer has bond hearing

SIREN, Wis. (WSAU) - The Waupun police lieutenant that was arrested in northwest Wisconsin was in court Thursday. 43-year-old Brad Young from Brandon had a bond hearing in Burnett County circuit court. Burnett County’s formal charges have not yet been filed, but the judge set Young’s bond at $50,000, with $40,000 in signature bond and the first $10,000 in cash.

Young is accused of robbing a restaurant in the Waupun area, and stealing two vehicles before being caught in a cabin at McKenzie Lake northwest of Spooner Tuesday. Young will likely be charged with breaking into that cabin and felony fleeing officers by Burnett County District Attorney William Norine. He has potential charges of fleeing officers and stealing a car in Barron County, and the charges of robbing a restaurant and stealing a vehicle in the Waupun area.
