NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) - Neenah Public Works has narrowed its boil water advisory from around 300 homes to just 30.
An area of the city has been under a boil water advisory since Sunday after water samples tested positive for coliform bacteria.
The advisory was extended twice this week and is in effect until Friday morning.
But now, Public Works says only 30 properties should continue to boil any water used for drinking, cooking or washing dishes. The homes still under the advisory are along South Commercial Street with house numbers 500 to 738.
Questions are being raised about weather the public works department did its due diligence about alerting homeowners during the initial alert. They only sent out information to news outlets for broadcast and publish. It wasn’t until later in the week they started going door-to-door.
Some residents are also complaining of being sick for the last few days, and some are pointing to a construction site along South Commercial Street as the source.
