GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Lambeau Field won’t be available to host any outdoor concerts or other events until the summer of 2015, but could there be new competition from Miller Park in Milwaukee?
PMI Entertainment Group President Ken Wachter says Miller Park is aggressively pursuing stadium acts. Kenny Chesney and Paul McCartney are playing at the Brewers home stadium this summer.
But Wachter isn’t worried, because Lambeau Field has its own draw; it has more seating, and it’s cheaper to put on a concert.
Wachter says there is also no guarantee an act could be booked in 2015. It’s not known if any acts will be touring stadiums and it’s a select number that do stadium gigs.
The Packers don’t want any events in the bowl until stadium reconstruction is finished.
PMI Entertainment says they are also looking at other outdoor events.
Wachter says Kenny Chesney, along with two rock acts, were interested in playing Lambeau this past summer.
