The Green Bay Gamblers came out firing and defeated the Youngstown Phantoms in Game 1 of the USHL Clark Cup Playioffs first round series at the Resch Center 3-1 Wednesday night. Green Bay jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period on a pair of goals from Kevin Irwin and another from Nicholas Schilkey. Youngstown tallied midway through the second but goaltender Tony Kujava of Green Bay Notre Dame high school held up, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced. The defending Clark Cup champs eliminated Youngstown last year three games to one and can take a commanding two games to none lead in Game 2 Thursday night with the face-off at 7:05 PM.
