MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - The man convicted in the arson deaths of his three sons will spend the rest of his life in prison.
A judge in Lafayette County sentenced Armin Wand to three consecutive life sentences in the deaths of his three young sons in a fire he set in September 2012. Wand plead guilty to all of the charges against him earlier this year.
Police say Wand and his brother Jeremy set fire to the home in order to collect the insurance money. His pregnant wife, three sons and young daughter were all inside the home at the time. The three sons did not survive. His wife was severely injured getting out of the home. His daughter survived.
The state attorney general's office is handling the prosecution in the Wand cases. The court proceedings against Jeremy Wand continues in May.
