GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - It’s a perfect weekend to get in the car and see Wisconsin’s fall colors.
Clear skies are in the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday – and the only place that’s not reporting any significant colors yet is Spring Green in Sauk County.
There’s no place in Wisconsin that’s past its peak yet for red, orange, and yellow leaves. Much of the northwest is at its peak – but the far north from Superior to Ashland is at 50 to 75 percent of its full colors.
Much of central Wisconsin and the Fox Valley are at around half their peaks. Madison is also at 50 percent, but other parts of southern Wisconsin are at 15 to 45 percent.
Milwaukee’s fall colors are at 30 percent of their peak.
Those places in the north which have not hit the peaks yet are expected to do so in the next week. Much of southern Wisconsin won’t hit its peaks until the third week of October.
You can see a complete map of the fall colors and get detailed information in the state’s Fall Color Report at TravelWisconsin.Com.
As for the weather, partly cloudy skies are in the forecast through Friday night. But clear skies are predicted statewide throughout the weekend, with highs in the 60’s or 70’s each day and lows in the 30’s and 40’s.
