UNDATED (WSAU) The NFL approved a $58-million loan to the Green Bay Packers to complete renovations at Lambeau Field. The team requested the money during last week's league owners meeting from a special fund that's intended for stadium and facilities improvements.
Work to enclose the south end zone, adding about 7,000 new seats is already underway and should be completed by the 2014 season.
Part of the project was funded by the sale of team stock last year. The Packers have already announced that no taxpayer dollars will be used.
