BROOKFIELD, WI (WTAQ) - The Waukesha County medical examiner confirmed this afternoon that one of the three people killed at a Brookfield spa was the gunman’s estranged wife.
42-year-old Zina Haughton of Brown Deer died at the hands of her estranged husband Radcliffe Haughton. The other victims were identified as 35-year-old Cary Robuck of Racine and 38-year-old Maelyn Lind of Oconomowoc.
Radcliffe Haughton, who was 45, shot himself to death and was found later in the spa.
Robuck’s Facebook page said she worked at the Azana Salon-and-Spa, along with Zina Haughton.
There was no immediate word on whether Lind was an employee or a customer.
Court records and media reports quoted Zina Haughton as saying that her husband had constantly terrorized her – he once threatened to toss acid in her face – and that police saw a long barrel being pointed at Zina last year, which resulted in a stand-off for an-hour-and-a-half.
Radcliffe Haughton was not arrested after that incident.
Meanwhile, Governor Scott Walker has canceled a series of campaign events in Missouri today on behalf of that state’s GOP gubernatorial candidate Dave Spence.
Spence’s campaign said Missouri Senator Roy Blunt will take the place of Walker, who is staying in Wisconsin in the wake of Sunday's Brookfield shootings.
