Gas prices falling across northeast Wisconsin

by

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The price of gasoline in northeast Wisconsin is dropping dramatically.

In the Green Bay area, a gallon of regular unleaded is about $3.69, and as low as $3.65 in the Fox Valley. That's down 12 cents from earlier this week.

There are several reasons why, according to GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

"Demand for gasoline is dropping with the cooler temperatures, supply is increasing, we've switched over to a winter gasoline that's cheaper to produce," says DeHaan. "And more importantly, speculative money is flowing out of gasoline as the peak season for gas comes to an end."

DeHaan expects this downward trend to continue, even with the holidays on the horizon.

"Vacation travelers are hitting the road yes, but a lot of people may be staying home, and they're not driving to work or picking up the kids from school, so there's not a whole lot of extra demand placed on the system over a holiday," says DeHaan.
