The first high school champions of the new school year were crowned Tuesday at the Cherokee Country Club in Madison.  The WIAA State Girls golf meet concluded with another strong showing from Green Bay Notre Dame who missed out on a silver trophy, second place finish by a single stroke.  Mequon Homestead captured it's second straight Division 1 team title with a 671 total over 36 holes.  First day leader Kettle Moraine finished second at 682 and Notre Dame came in third at 683.  In their first trip to state, De Pere came in 11th.  Jessice Reinecke of Verona was the individual medalist in D1, beating two time defending champ Emily Joers of Waukesha.  Notre Dame's Jessie Staed and Maddy Neumeier of Green Bay Preble tied for 7th, 14 shots back.  Neuemeier shot a final round 77 on a raw, wet day.  In Division 2, Madison Edgewood won it's 11th team title in the past 12 years with a one shot victory over Racine Prairie School.  Casey Danielson of Osceola went five under par 139 over the two days to win the individual title for a record tying 4th straight year.
