DARBOY, WI (WTAQ) - Pressure is mounting on the Kimberly School District after petitions were started to get Charlie Knuth back on track with his education.
Knuth has a rare skin disorder and has been hospitalized for months in Minnesota since the summer.
Knuth’s home residence is in the Kaukuana School District, but attends Kimberly through Wisconsin's open enrollment program.
However, Knuth missed the first 21 days of class, so he was required to be dropped from open enrolment.
Knuth’s mother Trisha says she was never notified and is now fighting to get him back in.
Exceptions have been made in the past with Knuth’s education. He received home bound schooling, which is not something the Kimberly School District has to do because he technically is not a resident of the district.
