More than 43-million Americans are expected to travel for the holiday. Pam Moen with AAA-Wisconsin says about 874,000 Badger State residents will be among those taking a trip, with many people leaving Wednesday.
While people head back home on different days, Sunday will see the heaviest traffic for the return trip. Moen says it's not just because of people heading home from family visits. Some are returning from hunting trips. Others are headed back to college.Moen says travel for the holiday is expected to be up about one-percent over last year. Travel rates dropped by 25-percent during the 2008 Thanksgiving holiday.Moen says most of those people will making the trip by car.
