GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A veteran cemetery wreath laying idea will continue this year after some help from a local business.
Last year, members of VFW Post 7534 laid 56 holiday wreaths at the grave sites of soldiers at the Fort Howard Memorial Park historic cemetery on Green Bay’s Westside.
The idea was similar to an annual tradition at the Arlington National Cemetery.
Now the wreath laying will continue year to year after getting support from Veolia Waste Management out of De Pere.
This year, the VFW members have laid nearly 60 wreaths at the cemetery’s Field of Honor.
