This weekend's Million Muppet March held in Washington D.C., a rally that was organized in response to GOP candidate Mitt Romney's proposed plan to cut the U.S. federal government's subsidy for PBS, may not have lived up to its name (the New York Daily News reports that the event drew closer to a thousand protesters, rather than a million) but that doesn't mean the march held to raise awareness about the importance of public television programming wasn't effective.
In fact, if you laughed off the thought of a parade of NPR- and PBS-loving liberals with puppets on their hands trying to make a final plea with their fellow Americans to not vote for Romney, keep this photo below in mind. Without PBS funding, people will be forced to make their own Big Birds to fill the Sesame Street void and there's a good chance most of them will look something like this:
