ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) - Employees at Prevea Health gathered on Saturday to put together hundreds of care packages for troops overseas.
It's part of the "Operation Prevea Holidays" event, which helps troops serving in Afghanistan. The 420 packages include items like socks, towels, books, snacks and more.
Organizers said as the holidays are just around the corner, it's a great way to remember troops.
"If people are looking for something extra to do for the holidays, we're hoping that this will be a reminder that there are thousands of our family members serving in harm's way, and it would be a great opportunity for the holidays as well," Deb Mauthe with Prevea Health told FOX 11.
Each package and soldier has a connection to a Prevea employee. This is the second year for the event.
