APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - A Brillion man has been found guilty of shooting his mother to death over a $500,000 in life insurance money.  

Late Friday evening, an Outagamie County convicted 35-year-old Randal Rosenthal of the 1^st degree intentional homicide involving his mother Kathleen Remter from Kaukauna.  She was 52-year-old. 

Remter body was found floating in the Fox River near the Rapide Croche Damn near Wrightstown last July.

Investigators said DNA tests turned up blood on jeans the defendant wore that day while he was fishing with his mother.
