NEW YORK (WSAU) - National League Most Valuable Player Ryan Braun made references to his positive drug test as he accepted the MVP award at a New York ceremony last night.

Braun could be forced to miss the first 50 games of the upcoming season, depending on the ruling from an arbitrator who heard his appeal last week. Braun told the crowd at the annual Baseball Writers Association of American Awards banquet he has always loved and had so much respect for the game of baseball. He said everything he has ever done in his career has been done with that respect and appreciation in mind.

Obliquely referring to the positive test, he talked about the adversity and challenge he is facing now.
