UNDATED (WSAU) It’s well below zero in most of Wisconsin this morning – but unlike yesterday, folks are not battling dangerous wind chills. It was 26-below in Land O’Lakes at five o’clock, but the air was calm there. Eagle River had minus-24.
Central Wisconsin generally had readings in the single digits below zero. Milwaukee had one-above with very light winds.
Mineral Point was the state’s warm spot at plus-three.
Clear skies drove down the mercury. But an upper-level disturbance is moving in today, and forecasters say it will bring another 3-to-6 inches of snow to the southern half of Wisconsin. The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory for south until this evening. The far north will stay dry. Forecasters predict dry weather and a gradual warm-up for tomorrow, with temperatures getting closer to normal in the teens-and-20’s. The upper-30’s will return to southeast Wisconsin on Sunday – and there’s a chance for freezing rain in the south on Sunday and Monday.
