The W.I.A.A. state hockey tournament continued with sectional semifinals at the Cornerstone Community Center in Ashwaubenon Tuesday night. The top seeded Notre Dame Tritons boys team improved to 23-3 on the season with an 8-2 rout of Fox Cities to advance to the sectional title game. The Tritons are seeking a third straight trip to the state tournament in Madison. Tim Davison tallied a pair of goals for Tritons who will face Bay Port in the final. The Pirates got 23 saves from Nate Eminger in posting their second straight tournament shutout, 6-0 over Waupaca. Drew Neuville scored twice for the second seeded Pirates. Notre Dame will play Bay Port Saturday night at the Tri-County Ice Arena in Neenah for the state tournament berth.
In girls play, the Bay Area Ice Bears got a hat trick from Lauren Roethlisberger in beating Hartland Arrowhead 4-1. The Ice Bears (19-5-1) will face Kettle Moraine Friday night in the sectional final.
