GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin Democratic party is touring parts of the Badger State highlighting Governor Scott Walker's ties to the ongoing John Doe investigation surrounding his staffers when he was Milwaukee County Executive.

"These are all his closest people," says Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Mike Tate at a press conference in Green Bay. "To believe that the 5 or 6 people closest to him committed crimes, that he had no knowledge of it, he didn't know about it and he wasn't engaged in it defies logic and expectation."

In a packet given to media members, the Democratic Party outlines Governor Walker's "pattern of abuse" and provides details into the investigation, which Walker has previously said he would cooperate with. Last week, the governor hired two attorneys for his future meeting with Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisolm.

On Tuesday, former Walker aide Darlene Wink pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of political solicitation by a public employee. Wink has also agreed to cooperate with the probe.

Kelly Rindfleisch, his former deputy chief of staff, is charged with felony misconduct in office. Tim Russell and Kevin Kavanaugh, both Walker associates, have been charged with theft in relation to embezzlement of thousands of dollars in Operation Freedom funds. Another man, Brian Pierick, is charged with child enticement.

They also accuse Walker of knowing about a private e-mail system set up to try to hide activities that directly benefited his political career.

"He is somebody that we believe knew about, orchestrated, and oversaw the setting up of a secret email system that existed in the Milwaukee County Executive's office so that he could evade public records requests that he could evade transparency that so many people in the media and the public demand of our elected officials. And we believe that he committed crimes with the intent of raising money for his governor's race," said Tate.

The Democratic Party has also released a new website here and a new online ad, titled "What Scott Walker Knew."

Reached by e-mail, Press Secretary for the Friends of Scott Walker campaign Tom Evenson said, "The campaign has no comment at this time."

The secret John Doe investigation comes at a politically delicate time for Walker because he faces a potential recall.

The tour also traveled to Appleton and Stevens Point Wednesday, then will head to Eau Claire and La Crosse on Thursday.
