APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - A house fire in Appleton Saturday forces a family of four out into the cold.
Firefighters get the call around 3:45 a.m. to the home in the 1100 block of West Weiland Lane.
Authorities say the blaze started in the basement of the two-story duplex. Upon arrival, crews say they saw heavy, black smoke on the first floor.
Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, but the home does have extensive smoke damage.
