WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) An 18-year-old accused of stealing a pick-up truck tired to outrun police on a stolen bicycle on Friday.
The incident started when police tried to arrest Benjamin Scholenberger. He was in a stolen truck that crashed on 44th Avenue near Highway U in the Town of Maine.
Scholenberger tried to flee the scene on a stolen bicycle. He was located on Bridge Street in Wausau. He pedaled to the Wisconsin River and tried to swim away from police. He was arrested when he came ashore.
He'll appear in Marathon County court on Monday.
