JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Janesville Police said a man was drunk when he caused a traffic accident that killed a passenger in another vehicle.

It happened early Sunday morning on the city’s south side.

19-year-old Jeffrey Bauer of Janesville died, and three others were seriously hurt. Police said a 21-year-old Janesville man was driving a car that slammed into a van that was turning left at an intersection.

Police said the van driver had to be extricated from her vehicle, and she suffered life-threatening injuries along with a passenger in the car. The car driver had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that person faces possible charges of causing death and injury by drunk driving, causing death while his license was suspended, and first time OWI.
