COLOMA TOWNSHIP -- A 21-year-old Benton Harbor woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-car accident in Coloma Township Sunday. Officers found the car on Defield road near Little Paw Paw Lake around 11:15 p.m. Apparently, the car left the roadway and struck a tree. Another driver told police the woman was following him home in her own car and he turned around to see what happened when she didn't come over a hill he had just passed.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined and they're still investigating, but the victim was reportedly wearing a seatbealt. Investigators continue to search for the cause.
