GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Starting Wednesday electronics can't be tossed out with the other trash.
A new state law goes into effect, requiring residents statewide to recycle things like computers, TV's and cell phones.
Chuck Larscheid, Brown County Port and Solid Waste Director, he says toxic and hazardous materials can mix with groundwater, leading the state to try and get people in the habit of recycling old electronics.
Places like Best Buy and American will accept those old electronics, while recycling plants may charge a small fee.
