KALAMAZOO (WKZO) - A man who shot and killed a man and a woman at a north side Kalamazoo apartment complex in December apparently because of an argument over a puppy, has cut a deal with prosecutors. Christopher White will spend at least 40 years to 75 in prison for the double homicide, if the judge goes along with the deal.
White had been partying with Tamika Morris and Corey Johnson in their unit at Interfaith Apartments, when White accused Morris of taking a pit bull puppy from his apartment, a dog he hoped to sell. Police say White pulled a gun and shot Morris and then shot her boyfriend, while their daughter was in the next room. A third adult escaped, and would have been the prosecution’s star witness in a trial that was set to begin today.
