MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – A Merrill man has been flown to a burn unit in Madison with second and third-degree burns to his hand and chest from an early morning house fire.
Firefighters found the single-story home fully engulfed in flames about 3 a.m.. They quickly got the blaze under control. It took crews from Merrill, Pine River and Corning to battle the blaze.
Paramedics took him to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center. He was stabilized and flown to Madison for treatment.
The fire remains under investigation.
