MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A former president and co-owner of Schlomann Brothers Construction Inc. in Appleton is charged with tax crimes. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports federal prosecutors have charged Roger Schlomann with 2 counts of failing to account for and pay to the IRS $900,000 in payroll taxes withheld from his employees.

Schlomann has reportedly agreed to plead guilty to both charges, each of which carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. Prosecutors indicate he's set to appear May 13 in a federal court in Milwaukee. The plea agreement filed in the case says Schlomann failed to file quarterly payroll tax returns between 1998 and 2007.
