The “champion of great taste” has claimed its final victim from the 2008 ad campaign that made every person in America say, “Really, Ortega?”

Morgan Hamm is done, has been for a long time.  Paul’s comeback, like his time in the back seat of an Ohio squad car, fell flat.  And now Shawn Johnson has bid adieu to Olympic competition.

Johnson has officially retired, unable to fully recover from a shredded left knee that resulted from a 2010 skiing accident.  Johnson tore her ACL, MCL, meniscus, and hamstring in the accident, and though her will was endless, the knee said that’s enough.
