Just when it looked like Cedric Benson was finding his niche in the Packers offense, he's literally getting the boot.  Against the Colts last Sunday, Benson had rushed seven times for 20 yards and caught pass for 18 more, but on his second catch, a three yard check down from Aaron Rodgers early in the second quarter, Benson was brought down by linebacker Moise Fokou.  It was a twisting type of tackle, compounded by Cory Redding piling on late for a 15 yard penalty.  It also ended Cedric's day.  He later was carted to the locker room and was placed in a stablizing walking boot.  On Monday, Mike McCarthy said Benson had a morning examination from team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie who wanted a follow-up look in the afternoon.   While McCarthy wasn't sure of the extent of the injury at his press conference time, he already ruled Benson out of the week six contest against the Houston Texans Sunday night.  ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday night that Benson had suffered a Lisfranc injury to his foot and may be sidelined 6-8 weeks and if surgery is required, perhaps for the season.   The Lisfranc injury is becomming quite prevalent in the NFL.  The arch of the foot is formed by five metatarsal bones from the toes that are joined by smaller bones and ligaments.   When one or more of those metatarsal bones are displaced, usually be dropping something very heavy on your foot, the Lisfranc joint is compromised.  It's a very painful injury and needs a lot of time to heal even without surgery. Benson has gained 248 yards on the ground for the Packers and became the primary ballcarrier almost from the moment he arrived in Green Bay during the middle of training camp.  The Packers will now turn to a collection of inexperienced running backs, Alex Green, James Starks and Brandon Saine.
