You knew it wasn't going to be easy.  The Green Bay Packers met a desperate team at Ford Field Sunday, missing three Pro Bowl starters in Greg Jennings, Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews.  They trailed the Detroit Lions for about 52 of the 60 minutes but somehow pulled out a 24-20 victory with a marvelous 4th quarter drive and huge contributions from the kiddie corps that has replaced the injured all-stars.   Randall Cobb's 22 yard touchdown catch with 1:55 left put the Packers on top 21-20 and Mason Crosby earned only a small bit of redemption by hitting a 39 yard field goal with 19 seconds left to end the scoring after missing a pair earlier.   Mike McCarthy mave have given Crosby the yips in the first quarter by passing on a potential 49 yard try, instead going for it on 4th and 4 from the Detroit 31. Aaron Rodgers missed Cobb on the play and Detroit hit a huge play.  Matthew Stafford found Calvin Johnson for 53 yards over Jerron McMillian to the Packer 18.  Detroit had first and goal from the nine but had to settle for Jason Hanson's 30 yard field goal to open the scoring.  The Packers responded with an 81 yard drive, capped by Jermichael Finley's first touchdown catch since opening day, a 20 yard play that broke wide open.  Rodgers called a screen to the right which drew the linebackers in that direction leaving Finley alone over the middle.  He caught the ball at the 10 and easily made it into the end zone.  Detroit answered with a 74 yard drive in 10 plays, again Johnson made a pair of third down receptions to set up Mikel Leshoure's 1 yard plunge that made it 10-7 Lions. The first half ended with a rash of turnovers.  Casey Hayward came up with his fifth pick of the year but two plays later, Rodgers threw his 6th of the season, trying to hit Cobb on a post but the pass was flat and Jacob Lacey snared it.   Green Bay got it back when Dezmon Moses stripped Stafford on a scramble and Mike Daniels recovered at the Lions 42.  A sack at the 24 and poor clock management forced Crosby to try a 50 yard field goal that missed wide right but Detroit called time out.  Given a second chance, Crosby missed again wide left.  Back to back sacks killed Green Bay's opening drive of the third quarter.  With Detroit pushing into Green Bay territory, M.D. Jennings made the biggest defensive play of the day.  Stafford's pass to Tony Scheffler was a bit high and behind the tight end who tipped the ball into the air.  Jennings grabbed the pick at the 28 and started working toward the right sideline. He got a couple of blocks and took it 72 yards for the touchdown.  The Lions came right back and Stafford hit Johnson for a 25 yard touchdown on a pass that Morgan Burnett should have intercepted.  Crosby would miss a 38 yard try in the fourth quarter and two big completions to Ryan Broyles for 27 yards and 24 to Titus Young gave Detroit a first and goal at the 10. Again, the defense stiffened and Hanson hit a 27 yard field goal to make it 20-14 Lions with only 4:25 to play.  Rodgers engineered a scintillating game winning drive.  James Starks opened it up with an 11 yard draw play.  After Rodgers missed Jordy Nelson on the sideline, he connected on a short pass in the right flat to Finley who got big blocks from Nelson and Cobb and turned it into a 40 yard gain.  Facing third and 1 at the 22 just before the 2 minute warning, Rodgers was rushed and lofted a high ball to the left corner of the end zone.  Cobb got behind Lacey and safety Ricardo Silva was late in providing help and Randall went up high to snare the touchdown catch.  Crosby's PAT put Green Bay in front and when the defense got it back after four straight incompletions, Crosby tacked on a feel good, 39 yard kick to close out the scoring.  On the game's final play, Stafford and Johnson hooked up for a 30 yard pass but when Johnson tried to lateral the ball to keep the play going, McMillian jumped in front to take it away.  It was a clutch performance that gave Green Bay  it's fifth straight win, 9th straight in the division and it's now 21 of the last 24 against Detroit.  The Lions outgained the Pack 362-314 but Rodgers badly outplayed Stafford, throwing for 236 yards on 19 of 27 with a pair of touchdowns, giving him 27 on the season and a passer rating of 106.4 while Stafford completed just 17 of 36 with one score and two picks and a rating of 54.0.  Megatron did his damage with five catches for 143 yards and a score but no one else really hurt the secondary.  Cobb led the Pack with 9 catches for 74 yards and Finley had three receptions, two of them huge.  On the ground, James Starks took over as the primary ball carrier and did a decent job, gaining 74 yards on 25 carries.  Leshoure pounded out 84 yards on 19 carries.   Both lines had trouble with protection, Green Bay gave up three sacks while the Packers got to Stafford five times, two from Erik Walden.  The young secondary really stepped up as new players snared both picks and knocked down 9 passes combined.   Penalties also hurt Green Bay, they were flagged nine times for 80 yards.  Yet in crunch time, the defense made stops and took it away while the offense protected Rodgers who delivered on the game winning drive.  The only injury of note came in the final minute when B.J. Raji left the game after reinjuring his sprained ankle.  Woodson, Matthews, Jennings, Sam Shields, Andrew Quarless, Terrell Manning and Jarret Boykin were the inactives.  At 7-3, the Packers are within a half game of the division leading Bears who have a tall order in San Francisco on Monday night without Jay Cutler.  Next up, a trip to MetLife Stadium and a Sunday night meeting with the NFC East leading New York Giants in a matchup of the last two Super Bowl winners.  On the link below, a complete collection of quotes from a very happy visitors locker room at Ford Field.
