The Packers will be without number one draft choice Nick Perry for the rest of the season. After opening the year at outside linebacker, the former USC Trojan injured his wrist in the season opener but played on. A knee injury finally knocked him out of the lineup three weeks ago. When it was reported Perry was going to seek a second opinion on his injury, most thought it was for the knee but it turns out, the wrist was bothering him even more. Perry underwent surgery to repair the injury and on Wednesday, was placed on season ending injured reserve by General Manager Ted Thompson. Perry appeared in six games, started five, rang up 29 tackles and had a pair of sacks. Veteran Erik Walden has assumed his starting job and has held up well for the Packers defense. To take his roster spot, Thompson activated tight end Andrew Quarless off the physically unable to peform list. Quarless suffered a major knee injury last season and returned to practice full time about three weeks ago.
