(LEARFIELD) – Cole Caufield scored two goals, including the game tying goal and the game winner in OT as the Badgers got by Penn State 4-3.
The two goals for Caufield were his 26th & 27th of the season, which leads the nation.
Badgers coach Tony Granato talked about Caufield’s game-winner.
Ty Emberson assisted on the game winner, springing Caufield with a long pass for the break/away.
With the Badgers trailing 2-1 in the third period, Dylan Holloway was hit with a five-minute major penalty and game ejection because of a head contact infraction. The Badgers killed off the 5-minute major and went to work from there.
Granato said Penn State forced the Badgers to battle through some adversity.
Emberson also scored a goal for the Badgers.
Wisconsin (20-8-1) extended its unbeaten streak to 8-games and advances to the Big Ten title game on Tuesday night against Minnesota.
