As the second week of Organized team acitivites got underway for the Pack, the front office has sent out re-tendered offers to three restricted free agents.  Tramon Williams, Johnny Jolly and Atari Bigby have new offers to look over, but time is getting tight.  All three offers are essentially the same, Williams tender is for first and third round draft picks.  That means if another NFL team signs him, and the Packers decline to match, they would receive a first and third round draft choice as compensation.  Awfully steep for any team.  Jolly has a first round tender offer and Bigby has a second round tender.  If the players don't sign by June 15, the Packers have the ability to lower the offers to 110% of their 2009 base salary.

Jolly's codeine posession trial in Houston, Texas continues to plod along.  Originally arrested in the summer of 2008, Jolly had the charges dropped and then re-filed.  He's accused of posessing codeine in liquid cough syrup, without a prescription.  Authorities say the codeine, mixed with soda, creates a street drug common in Houston.    Judge Mike Anderson has yet to set a court date but along the way, Jolly's bond conditions have been strengthened.  Court documents reveal Jolly has been less than forthcoming with the court.  A polygraph was administered in May but according to reports, Jolly has been "deceptive" with the court.  Jolly was asked if he's consumed any alcohol since December of 2009 and given the opportunity to answer the question following the lie detector test, Jolly refused.  Photographs later surfaced showing Jolly with a drink in his hand.  Judge Anderson then ordered Jolly to submit a hair follicle test and forced him to abide by a 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM curfew until trial. The case against Jolly appears strong and his actions over the past few months indicate he's headed for more trouble.   The NFL office is watching and even if acquitted at trial, Jolly may be looking at some disciplinary action from the league, possibly a suspension.   The Packers may have been protecting themselves of that possibility by drafting two defensive ends in April.
