It's been a while since my last post, a pre-2010 season vacation took me to the home of the Super Bowl champion Saints in New Orleans. No, wasn't there to check on Darren Sharper or Drew Brees, proud to say my daughter is enrolled at the Tulane University Medical School, but the white coat welcoming ceremony took place on Monday so I had to miss the first couple days of Packers camp for the first time in my 30 years on the beat. I'm back on the beat full time now and you'll get regular updates on the happenings of camp both on the field and from the locker room from here on out. For the first time in a long time, the Packers are distraction free at the start of camp, no Brett Favre drama, well sort of...no holdouts or major injuries. The Favre story on Tuesday was almost laughable, you could see this coming. A vague text to a teammate saying he was done but no formal decision from the Favre camp in Mississippi and Vikings coach Brad Childress hadn't heard anything from his quarterback. My guess is..another couple of weeks to let the post-operative ankle to feel better and Favre will ride in on that 13 million dollar white horse in late August to save the Vikes again. Stay tuned. Many of the blog posts, like today's will include an audio feature from training camp, a one on one interview with a player or coach or in today's case, highlights from General Manager Ted Thompson's first news conference of camp. Click on the link below to hear it and keep coming back for the latest news and opinions on the Packers of 2010, it's good to be back!
