Hill returns, Tailgate Tour set

by Mark Daniels

The Packers have added another running back to the stable.  Michael Hill is rejoining the team.  Originally signed by the Packers last September to join the practice squad, Hill was promoted to the active roster for a couple of games because of injury.  When Eddie Lacy and John Kuhn returned to the lineup, Hill was cut only to be brought back onto the practice squad a week later.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hit by injury and they signed Hill to their active roster where he appeared in the final six games of the season.  He carried the ball 9 times for 23 yards in Tampa.   With a new coaching staff brought in after the season, Hill was released.   The 5-19, 209 pound back played college ball at Missouri Western State.  He re-joins a backfield that includes Lacy, the NFL's offensive rookie of the year, along with Johnathan Franklin and DuJuan Harris who is coming off a major knee injury. James Starks and Kuhn are both unrestricted free agents.

The Packers have announced the dates for the 9th annual Tailgate Tour.   It will roll out of Lambeau Field April 15-19 and head north. Stops are planned for Escanaba and Ironwood, Michigan along with Superior, Rice Lake and Merrill, Wisconsin.   Team president Mark Murphy will lead the delegation on the fundraising tour with current players Jarrett Bush, Brad Jones and Mason Crosby.  Former Packer players Lynn Dickey, Paul Coffman and NFL Hall of Famer James Lofton will also be making the trip.
