State by State Honesty Ranking

by Norm Anderson

The Honest Tea company recently conducted an experiment to find out how honest people were based on geographical location, gender, hair color, and other things. They set up unmanned kiosks in all 50 states and the District of Columbia that featured cold beverages to be paid for on the honor system. The experiment was unscientific, but the results are interesting.

Alabama and Hawaii were the most honest with 100% of the people paying for their beverages. The District of Columbia was last with an 80 percent honesty rating.

Here are the rankings on Honest Tea's Honesty Index. The percentage is how many people paid for their drinks.
