SNAP OUT OF IT! It's not that easy. If it were, there'd be no suicide.

If you are someone that thinks people can snap out of it, READ THIS. And, while suicide is being called a "selfish" act, if the person were thinking of anyone but themselves and their darkness, they would never kill themselves. You slip into a dark tunnel and there is no light. No light switches. No lightbulbs. No sun. Nothing but darkness. As a society, we must do a better job of acknowledging the reality of depression. Smart people have it. Rich people have it. Famous people have it. Athletes have it. Average people have it. ANYONE can have it. Everyone can have it. If you are depressed, own it. Get help. It's treatable. Don't believe in drug therapy? Fine, go see a counselor. Don't believe in cognitive therapy? Go exercise. Talk to someone.
