Researchers are finding that certain foods can make you clinically depressed.

They tracked and studied 43,000 women over a 12-year period and paid special attention to their eating habits. None of the women were depressed before the study started.
Here's what they found:
Women who ate red meat, drank soda, or ate pasta, white bread, or crackers every day were 29 to 41% more likely to be diagnosed or treated for depression than women didn't.
** Foods like coffee, olive oil, wine, and vegetables including carrots, sweet potatoes, and leafy greens can help reduce depression...but they need to be eaten every day.
A Mediterranean-style diet also lowers the risk.
